The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is charged with the responsibility for development of the transport and meteorology and to ensure that the services provided in these sectors are efficient and meet the needs of the population. The Ministry was established in January 2011 from the then Ministry of Infrastructure Development. Since then the Ministry has focused attention at ensuring availability of adequate transport infrastructure, well maintained and safeguarded the environment against irresponsible infrastructure development as well as integrating all modes of transport in achieving a coherent vision for economic development.

The Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory body established in both the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia, by the TAZARA ACT of 1975, which was later amended by the TAZARA ACT of 1995. The governments of both Tanzania and Zambia are the joint and equal shareholders of TAZARA. Constructed and equipped with assistance of the Chinese government, the railway was built between 1970 and 1975 and began commercial operations on 14th July 1976. Covering a total distance of 1,860km from Dar es Salaam to New Kapiri Mposhi, TAZARA links the Southern Africa Regional transport network to Eastern Africa, Asia and the Far East through the seaport of Dar es Salaam. It connects landlocked Zambia to the seaport of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania through New Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia, which provides road and railway interconnectivity to the rest of southern Africa and other parts of Zambia, including the Copperbelt region and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Areas of coverage include: Aviation, Maritime, Oil and Gas, Mining and Power, Railways, Finance and Insurance, as well as the logistics industry such as Courier, Haulage, Warehousing and all aspects of Supply Chain management related to Africa. Via Libre is the leading Spanish railway magazine. Every month, it provides a treasure of information on a wide range of topics related to railways. It is edited by the Fundacion de los Ferrocarriles Espanoles, and its Editorial Committee includes representatives of all the public Spanish railway and metro companies: Renfe, Adif, the regional railway companies and all the metro companies in the country. Via Libre has over 15,000 subscribers and it is highly appreciated among professionals and railway enthusiasts. It is considered to be a "classic" in the railway world, its first issue having appeared in 1964. It is distributed in Spain, Europe and Latin America.

Railways Africa is a specialist trade, technical and business-to-business publication covering the rail industry across the African continent. For almost 60 years as the continent's only printed rail magazine, Railways Africa has been the authoritative news agency for suppliers and operators in the African rail market. The print magazine is published every two months and is complemented by a very active online news website and an up-to-date weekly News Express electronic newsletter. In South Africa, Railways Africa also organizes quarterly networking dinners for the rail industry. While the magazine is industry focused, it doesn't neglect the interests of the rail preservation enthusiasts.
