It is our privilege and pleasure to welcome you to the 2nd Middle East-Africa-Asia Rice Summit 2010 to be held 20 - 21 June 2010 at JW Marriott in Dubai.
The Summit will highlight the suppliers’ perspective on the rice supply chain, how the recent weather conditions have affected rice crops, and trends in global rice trade and price forecasts. The gathering will offer a serious two-day intensive platform for interaction, exchange of ideas, learning and finding common solutions to current strategic challenges as well as boosting greater interaction and co-operation between the rice buyers from Middle East and Africa and major exporters from Asia, as well as emerging exporters from North and South America.
At the Summit the delegates will learn about rice production in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Pakistan, Brazil and the United States, explore consumer purchasing trends in the food market and the implications for rice, as well as future rice order books from buyers in Iraq, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa & Uganda. At the top of it, the Summit will provide market updates across key rice types: basmati, parboiled, white rice, japonica, and jasmine, plus emphasize on the future of GM Rice and present latest marine insurance and risk management strategies, new solutions in freight markets and collateral policies.
The 2nd Middle East-Africa-Asia Rice Summit 2010 will involve leading rice traders, importers & producers, government representatives, regional rice associations, millers, commodity finance institutions, freight brokers, bulk carriers and legal specialists supporting the rice trade to come together to discuss challenges and issues of critical importance to the rice industry for the coming year.
