The 2nd Generation
Biofuels & Jatropha Global Summit 2009 is an unique
gathering of international Jatropha and biofuel practitioners with the
common aim of building a sustainable biofuel industry. It seeks to bring
together an authoritative panel of experts, across the globe, offering
unique insights and experience of planting thousands of hectares in
West Africa, Central Africa, Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Northern
Africa, Asia, the Americas and Russia.
Gathering at Ghana, regarded
as the “Saudi Arabia of Biofuels” by the international press and the
biofuel industry, planters, farmers, oil and energy companies, scientists,
experts and investors from major cultivating countries will share their
practical experience related to the planting, fertilization, irrigation,
intercropping, tissue culturing, R & D and other best practices
to ensure maximum productivity and yield of the plants. Other critical
issues include environmental management, post harvest processing, storage
and supply chain management, oilseed crushing and processing, investing,
financing and farm-to-market issues. Indeed, with the incipient recovery
of oil prices, from a long-term perspective, the growth and development
of the 2nd generation biofuels and jatropha sectors holds so much potential
for the future! We are expecting decision makers from the government
energy, agriculture, natural resources and forestry ministries, biofuel
producers and investors, power producers, plantation owners, oilseed
processing players, agrobiotech and crop protection managers, biofuel
technologists, agricultural machine suppliers, agricultural financiers
and insurers, microfinance experts, fuel distributors, crop scientists
and researchers from all over the world at this unique Summit.
